Glamming it Up: Tom Ford’s Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear Collection at New York Fashion Week

Fashion designer, Tom Ford has had a busy year. He wrote, directed, and produced an Academy Award-nominated movie, Nocturnal Animals starring Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal but now he’s back with his first fashion show in a year with a line that pulls inspiration from his iconic menswear suits with a feminine flair. Ford has made a name for himself in the fashion world as working with Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent and creating his own eponymous label which includes women wear, menswear, and a beauty line. For Spring, Tom Ford has added broad-shoulder women’s jackets, peaked lapels, a little glam, and some pink velvet. From the hair to the bright colors, parkas, and pumped up shoulders, it was clear that Ford’s message was that the 90s are back in a big way. Ford’s show showed off some of the season’s biggest trends including crystals, glitter, velvet, and t-shirts worn sans pants.

Among some of the guests was Andrea Riseborough, who makes a cameo in Ford’s film, Julianne Moore, Kim Kardashian West, Karlie Kloss, and Chaka Khan while it-models, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and Gigi Hadid walked the runway.

The after-party had DJ Virgil Abloh providing the beats celebrated the release of his latest fragrance launch, F***ing Fabulous. Tom Ford’s return to fashion week was just as fearless and fabulous at the designer himself.
